WHAT IS A L.I.O.N  BINDER?

A L.I.O.N Binder is a 3-ring binder notebook, put together by the teacher, that helps first graders  keep their papers organized while traveling between school and home.  By using the L.I.O.N.  binder your child will learn that everything has a place.  You should not have to look through your child's backpack for lost or wrinkled papers, everything will be in one notebook! It's amazing how responsible a first grader can be when you give them the tools to do so!

Each child in first grade will receive a L.I.O.N binder instead of an assignment notebook.  Your child's  L.I.O.N binder will include a weekly newsletter/assignment sheet.  This is where you will find homework assignments, deadlines, and updates.

I borrowed and adapted this idea from Mrs. Davenport who teaches first grade in Leoma, Tennessee.
