Assignment
Notebook
Your child will have an assignment notebook in which
assignments will be written daily. It is the responsibility of the
students to write the assignments for each day and bring the
appropriate materials home. Please review your child's assignment
notebook nightly and sign it. Your signature not only indicates that
you have seen the assignment notebook; it also indicates that you
have checked their work is completed for the following day. This
notebook will be an excellent way for you to become aware of
upcoming tests, projects, and serves as a great way for
communication to occur between you and me. Please do not sign the
notebook if you have not reviewed your child's work or if the
homework is not completed. |

Home Work
Assignments
Homework assignments are to completed nightly and
returned to school the following day. Please review your child's
work each evening. This is vital to keep you informed about what we
are doing in class daily.
Starting in the 4th quarter, if your child's homework is not turned
in on time they will loose 10% of
their final grade each day that it is late.
If your child receives a D or an F on an assignment, they may redo
the assignment on a separate piece of paper and turn it in for a
revised, averaged grade.

Birthdays
You may send treats to share with the class for your
child's birthday. Please remember the treats must be purchased from
a store or bakery. Drinks, napkins, and plates are not necessary. If
you do send drinks, please send individual packaged drinks. We sing
Happy Birthday and they get to pick a prize out of the birthday box. |
|
Take Home/Friday Folders
All homework will
be sent home on a daily basis, in their take home folder.
Please review all of your child's work, as they may have some papers
that need to be corrected and returned.
If you are not seeing your student's graded work, please contact me.
We can make arrangements to send it all home on Friday in a sealed
envelope that you will sign and have the students return the
following Monday.

Stars Cards
Daily students have the ability to earn a star card
if they are caught being good or staying on task. If they receive
one, the student will be entered into a drawing to win a treat at the
end of the day.

Magic Kingdom
"Good Citizenship Creates A Magic Kingdom!"
Each child has a pocket in which five cards are kept. This pocket
will make children aware of their behavior.
The colors represent:
YELLOW - Super citizen!
PINK - Warning, improper behavior
GREEN - Lose one recess, time out to think about actions
BLUE - "Teacher's Choice" - action appropriate to misbehavior
ORANGE - Note/call home to involve parents in remedying the
situation
I keep track of
which color the students end on daily. This is recorded and is
averaged in for their classroom behavior grade on their report cards

Library
Students will go to the library
once a week
and are allowed to check out two books.
