Welcome to first grade! I am so excited that your student is in my class. We are going to have a terrific school year and I can’t wait to get started! Allow me to take a moment to tell you about myself. I am originally from Vienna, IL, and have lived in the Carterville area for the past 20 years. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Evansville and my Master’s Degree from Greenville College. I am married to Stephen and we have one daughter, Sydney, who is a senior at Carterville this year. My other “children” include a black lab, a beagle, 2 cats plus one stray that drops by for dinner now and then, and an eight year old Thoroughbred gelding. As you can see, I am an animal lover! When time allows, I enjoy volunteer work. I love teaching first grade at Tri-C and look forward to getting to know your student and you throughout the school year. The involvement of you and your family in your student’s education is vital. A team effort among parents, student, and teacher will ensure a quality learning experience. My expectations for your student are high and I look forward to watching the class grow and learn this year.
