About Me . . .

I am so excited to begin a new school year and look forward to getting to know you and your student.   Just to give you a little information about myself:  I am originally from Vienna, IL, and have lived in the Carterville area for the past 20 years.  I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Evansville and my Master’s Degree from Greenville College.  I am married to Steve and we have one daughter, Sydney, who is a junior at Carterville this year.  My other “children” include a black lab, a beagle, 2 cats plus one stray who drops by for dinner now and then, some hermit crabs, and a seven year old Thoroughbred gelding.  As you can see, I am an animal lover and spend a great deal of time with my daughter working with her horse.  I have been a Girl Scout leader for the past 11 years and I enjoy volunteer work at local humane shelters when time allows.

The involvement of you and your family in your student’s education is vital.  A team effort among parents, student, and teacher will ensure a quality learning experience.  My expectations for your student are high and I look forward to watching the class grow and learn.  With your participation in and out of the classroom we can achieve a successful year for everyone.

Please keep me updated with any information that you believe will improve my understanding of your student’s needs.  The more information I have, the better equipped I will be to serve your student.

We are off to a great start and I truly believe it is a privilege to work with these awesome kids.  I welcome the opportunity to address your questions and concerns.  Please feel free to contact me by phone, by email, or in person.  My phone number at Tri-C is 985-8742, my email address is clay@cartervillelions.com, and my home phone is 351-1524.
