The “Stop Light” is one way we help the students make good behavior choices. The “stop light” stand in our room is clearly marked with three colors: green, yellow, and red. Each student starts their day on green. If they choose to follow the class and school rules their color remains on green for the day. If they choose to disobey or display inappropriate behavior they must change their name to yellow. If a student has their color changed to yellow they lose five minutes of their recess time. If the student continues to choose to break the rules they will have their color changed to red. If a student has their color changed to red they will lose all their recess that day. Any threatening or dangerous choices (physical or verbal) will result in an immediate change to red. Dangerous or threatening choices may result in a visit to see the principal.
