Text Box: Reading-This week we are going to be reading a story called, "What About Me?".  When your child reads our stories at home with you, please ask them questions to see that they are understanding what they read.  This will help their comprehension greatly. Spelling–  All of our words this week are plural nouns.  Learning the patterns of -ies, -s, and -es will help with their understanding.   Please study these words at home because the test will be each Friday morning. English- In English we will be studying subjects and predicates.  A predicate starts with the verb in the sentence and describes what the subject is doing.  (Please look at the Family Times Newsletter for more information on this.)                                               be working on abbreviations this week. Text Box: Math-This week we will continue to discuss place value and different ways to use numbers.  Many of the students may have some difficulty when we get into the larger numbers of this chapter.  Please continue to study addition and subtraction at home with your child.   Science-We had a wonderful learning opportunity in Science last week!  Three of our butterflies have come out, and we were able to put them under our document camera to see one of them  them on the big screen!  Ask your child to tell you more about what is happening with our butterflies this week.
