About Your Teacher
I am originally from Galesburg, Illinois, where I graduated from Galesburg High School and Knox College. I taught fourth grade for eight years at King Elementary School in Galesburg.
In 2003, I married my beautiful wife, Amber, and in 2005, we adopted our two sons, Southern Illinois natives Kyler and Isaiah. During the adoption process, we fell in love with the area, and we decided to move to Carbondale in 2007, where I spent one wonderful year teaching fourth grade at Giant City School. On February 29, 2008, we welcomed our third child, Margaret, into the world.
This past May, our family decided to settle in Carterville, and I am elated to have landed a teaching position at Tri-C. I am proud to be a part of a school district with such a wonderful reputation.
I am currently working on a master’s degree in Teacher Leadership from Southern Illinois University, and I enjoy refining my instructional techniques to meet the needs of our students.
