Reading is so important to succeed in almost every subject your child has in school.  Students who struggle with calling the words, will have difficulty comprehending what they are reading.  Many of the students in the Title I program still struggle with sight words.  I have a link to the first thousand most commonly used words in print.  They are in the order of frequency of use.  These are called "Instant Words".  Your child needs to recognize and say these words instantly, not try to sound them out.
