Our Academically Challenging and Enriched Program (ACES) is a pullout program for two to three hours each week. The third grade ACES class meets every Monday and Tuesday from 1:30 - 2:30. The fourth grade class meets every Wednesday and Thursday from 1:30 - 2:30. Fridays are days to catch-up on whatever is needed.
Student selection for ACES is based on the scores of standardized tests: ITBS for third, and ISAT for fourth. Teacher input and grades are other factors that help determine eligibility. After the initial screenings, students are administered the Slosson Intelligence Test. Upon completion of all screening measures, students eligibility points will be plotted on an Identification Rank Score matrix. Any student who accrues an identification rank of 11 or below qualifies for the ACES program. Please see the front of the student handbook for a more in depth description of the screening process.
