Readers Theater is a dramatic presentation of a written work in a script form.

Reading parts are divided among the readers, and they read directly from a script; lines are not memorized. The focus is on reading the text with fluent expressive voices. It helps to make comprehending the text meaningful and fun for the students.  Many sources of research say that in order for new vocabulary words to become a part of a student's writing and daily language, they have to have exposure to the new word 15-20 times in various ways!  Readers theatres help give the exposure to new words.

Enjoy as you hear the students read the following stories:

The Pumpkin Book by Gail Gibbons

The Biggest Pumpkin Ever by Steven Kroll

Too Many Pumpkins by Linda White

The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything by Linda Williams
