I would like to take this opportunity to personally welcome you to Carterville High School.  For some of you, this will be your very first year here, for others, you have experienced many years being part of the Carterville Lions family.  Carterville High School is a special place with a long history and many fabulous traditions.   Carterville Community Unit School District #5 has again been awarded the Bright Star Award.  Schools receiving this award are in the top 25% of schools statewide in academic achievement but in the bottom 33% of schools statewide in terms of funding on a per pupil basis. 

In addition to outstanding academics, Carterville High School has had substantial success in athletics and the fine arts.  The level of cooperation among community, parents, staff and students creates a learning environment that is nurturing and conducive to life-long learning.
