The Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs of Illinois, being aware
of the financial need for many deserving students wishing to continue their
education in any post-secondary school or an accredited vocational/technical
school, is pleased to announce the continuance of their scholarship program.
The deadline for applying is March 1, 2012.  Applications are available at
www.ioof-il.org/ under the "Programs" link.

Peoples National Bank:  Applicant or parent/guardian of applicant must be a
customer of people's national bank.  GPA must be at least a 3.0.  Deadline
is March 1, 2012.

Williamson County High School Scholarships, awarded by the Williamson County
Chapter of the SIU Alumni Association, are now available at
www.siualumni.com/scholarships
 All application materials must be submitted (not postmarked or faxed) to
the SIU Alumni Association office prior to 4:30 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2012.

Logan's Discount Textbooks is offering three $500 scholarships. The goal of these scholarships is to reward students who have shown a continued commitment to serve their community through volunteer activities as well as a high GPA. Scholarship candidates must be able to show how their activities have benefited the surrounding community and/or nonprofit organizations. Volunteer activities may include: tutoring, coaching, hospital or hospice care, outreach activities, volunteering in food banks or shelters, participating in activities serving children/youth, church activities or other community service projects.  Must be a graduating senior who

The SIUC Legacy Scholarship is set up to assist those students who have a
relative that is an alumnus of Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
Scholarship applicants who have a parent, grandparent, sibling, step-parent
or legal guardian that is an SIU alumnus and has been an active member of
the SIU Alumni Association for three of the past five years will be given

March 31, 2012.

Roscoe Pulliam Memorial Scholarship.  Criteria include being a child,
grandchild, or sibling to an alumnus of SIUC who is a current member of the
SIU Alumni Association.  A new freshman student must rank in the upper 10%
of his/her high school graduating class and score a minimum of 26 on the
ACT.  Financial need of applicant will be considered.  Access the

US Bank Internet Scholarship Program offers 40 $1,000 scholarships in a
random drawing.  Apply online at www.usbank.com/scholarship through March
31, 2012.

Everett and Otilia Lynch Scholarship from the Zion United Church of Christ:

A $1,100 scholarship to a graduating high school senior or applicant who is

presently attending college, nursing school, or seminary.  GPA requirement is

2.0/4.0.  Financial need will be considered, but will not be the controlling factor.

Kay and Walter Paper Scholarship from the Zion United Church of Christ: 

A $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior or to an applicant

who is presently attending college or trade school, or is enrolled in building

construction classes, or has shown interest in the field of education through

volunteer work in early childhood or in the field of education.  GPA

requirement is 2.0/4.0.  Financial need will be considered, but will not be

 the controlling factor.  Due date is March 1, 2012.  The application can be found here.


The Rebecca and Jerry Kill Alumni Association Scholarship was funded by
$20,000 donation from Liberty Mutual during the 2007 Coach of the Year
awards presentation held on June 20, 2008 in conjunction with the Coach Kill
Cancer Fund Golf Scramble.  The application can be found at

The Sara Elizabeth Stubblefield Memorial Scholarship for Persons with
Epilepsy
is now available. Richard (retired teacherr) and Sara Stubblied
have created a scholarship in honor their daughter who passed away this
year. This scholarship is administered by the SARA ELIZABETH STUBBLEFIELD
FOUNDATION, a non-for-profit corporation organized under section 501(c) (3)
of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.  The Foundation has funded the
scholarship with an endowment and from that endowment a $2,000 scholarship
will be awarded each year.  The first scholarship will be awarded in the
spring of 2012.

Sons of Confederate Veterans offers a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating
senior who resides in Illinois and will be enrolling in college in the fall.
Student must be a descendant of a male who served honorably in the Army,
Navy, Judicial, Executive, or Civil Service of the Confederate States of
America.  Lineal or collateral family lines must be documented

 The goal of the Old National Bank Community Matters Scholarship is to
reward students who have exhibited exemplary service to their community
through volunteer activities. Scholarship candidates must demonstrate
substantial service or volunteer activities benefiting local communities
and/or nonprofit organizations. Volunteer activities may include: tutoring,
coaching, hospital or hospice care, outreach activities, volunteering in
food banks or shelters, participating in activities serving children/youth,
church activities or other community service projects. In 2012, Old National
will award a $1,000 scholarship for post-secondary education in each of the

Marion Memorial Health Foundation Board is pleased to provide the following
scholarships:  $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors from the area high
schools (including Carterville) and the R.D. Morgan, M.D. medical
scholarship to a Marion High School senior who is pursuing a career as a
medical doctor.  If no MHS senior meets the qualifications, the scholarship
will be open to area schools.  Please see a counselor or click here for the application.                                         All applications are due to Heartland Regional Medical Center by March 2, 2012.

The University of Mississippi will conduct its 28th Chancellor's Leadership
Class (CLC)
.  CLC students will receive a $1000 scholarship for their
freshman year.  If you have been admitted to the University of Mississippi
and would like to be considered for this nomination, please see a guidance
counselor before March 1, 2012.

Farm Credit Services of Illinois will award 25 $1,000 Agriculture
Scholarships.  Online registration and application are available at
www.fcsillinois.com.  Select the "Scholarships 2012" link.  Application
Deadline: March 2, 2012.

Artstarts Company will offer a college scholarship to a graduating student
from one of the following counties:  Alexander, Franklin, Gallatin, Hardin,
Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Massac, Perry, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Union,
Williamson to a student who plans to pursue a college degree in an arts
related field.  To apply:  Students must send a letter postmarked by March
16, 2012
to Artstarts Company, P.O. Box 1005, Marion, IL 62959.  The letter
should describe the student's experience and how the student has
demonstrated a commitment to his or her chosen field of art.  The student
should explain whether he or she has participated in any of the programs
offered by Artstarts.  Finally, the student should explain how he or she has
contributed to the community of Southern Illinois through his or her work in
