March 27-28, 2009 |
- CHS students, faculty,
staff and community rally together in support and memory of Abbie Adams,
daughter of Mrs. Jamie Adams, CHS chorus teacher. $969.00 was
raised during Abbie Adams Week. A
benefit dinner and special performance of the musical was held on
March 29 with over $6,300.00 raised for the Adams family.

1st at Sectionals and qualifies for State.

- In the CHS mock election, CHS students
elected John McCain and Sarah Palin, President and Vice President.
However, in the national presidential election, Barack Obama and Joe
Biden are elected President and Vice President .

Football team
finishes 10-1 with a second round playoff defeat by DuQuoin at
Lions Field.

Marching Lions
placed 2nd at the Drums at Appletime, 1st at Massac County Supercity
Invitational, 2nd at Effingham Marching Hearts competitions, and 2nd
at St. Genevieve, MO. They have also participated in numerous parades and
of course, play all of our home football games! This year's
theme was music from the Beatles.
