I am from Galesburg, IL, but Southern Illinois really feels like home to me. I graduated in 2007 from SIUC and then moved to Las Vegas, NV to pursue my Master's degree. I truly missed Southern Illinois and I couldn't be happier being back.  This is my third year teaching in Carterville.  I taught 5th grade last year, and am looking forward to teaching 6th grade again this year!

Education

B.S. Elementary Education, Southern Illinois University Carbondale (2007)

M.S. Curriculum and Instruction Emphasis in Technology Leadership, University of Nevada Las Vegas (2009)

Hobbies and Interests

Running is by far my favorite thing to do.  I have run in several 5K races, and I ran my first marathon in December of 2009.  I also enjoy just about anything else that involves nature and the outdoors (camping, rock climbing, boating, hiking, swimming, etc.). I played volleyball throughout junior high and high school, and still enjoy playing with friends. I am now the assistant coach of the Carterville High School Volleyball team!  This will also be my second year coaching the Carterville Intermediate School Cheerleaders.  Go Cubs! When I have free time I enjoy reading, cooking, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
