Homework and Make-up Work

Students will be assigned approximately an hour or less of homework on most nights. I will update the Homework Blog linked from my website each day with the homework assignments for the day and when they are due.  Students will also be responsible for recording daily homework assignments in their planners.

While I hope we all miss minimal days this school year, I understand that things do come up and I am happy to accommodate by preparing make-up work to be picked up at school.  However, it is your responsibility to pick up make-up work from the hanging files just outside of the office.  You may pick up any textbooks or other materials from your child’s locker.  Please note that there is a specific school procedure and timeframe for pre-arranged absences (p. 11 of student planner).

Please read your student handbook for specific information regarding Homework, Make-up Work, and Late Assignments (p. 21).

For information and advice for how to help your child with homework assignments and studying, visit the Parents Corner

Friday Folders

At the end of each week students will bring home a folder containing graded assignments, projects, quizzes, tests, handouts, etc. from the week.  In addition, a record of student behavior for the week will be recorded. This folder must be signed and returned to school with your child the following Monday (or next school day if Monday is a holiday or if your child is absent on Monday).

Grades will be based on class participation, homework assignments, in-class assignments and projects, notes, quizzes, and tests.
