Hi! Thanks for visiting my web page! I'd love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact me at any time.

Professional Information:
This is my 10th year teaching business and computer classes and my 7th year in Carterville. My first year teaching was in 1994 at Witt High School in Witt, IL. We graduated 12 students that year! As Witt was annexed into the Hillsboro district, I left to teach at Illinois Valley Central (IVC) High School in Chillicothe, IL. I was there during the 1995-1997 school years.

I returned to SIU-C to complete my Master's degree in Instructional Development, which I finished in Dec. 1998. I then took the corporate route for six years, working as a Curriculum Specialist at Systems Consultant Inc. in St. Louis and as a Training Specialist at American Water in Alton, IL.

I love being in the classroom again! I look forward helping the students in my classes learn all that they can about technology and the tools that are available to them.

Interesting Fact: The school mascots for Witt and IVC are very unusual. Do you know what they are? Click for answer

Personal Information:
I am married to Roger and together we have 4 children. Bethany Nicole, Roger's daughter, is 20 and a junior studying Math Education at McKendree University.  We are very proud of her! Zachary Pete was born Dec. 3, 2003.  Abigail Elizabeth was born June 24, 2005 and just celebrated her 5th birthday!  Our newest addition is Haley Faye.  She was born April 4, 2007 and is such a happy baby!

We moved to Carterville in July 2004 from Staunton. We love Southern Illinois! One of our favorite pastimes is driving around to all of the little towns, orchards, and state parks in Southern Illinois and Northern Kentucky. We visited Garden of the Gods in Golconda a couple of years ago and can't wait to go back!

Speedboys/Speedgirls

Witt High School earned its nickname, the "Speedboys", because of their style of playing boys basketball in the 1920s.  The style paid off and is written about on the Illinois HS
Glory Days web site.
