Spelling
The spelling lessons in our classroom will consist of two spelling books. We will use the Scott Foresman book that corresponds to our Reading series. We will also use the Wordly Wise series. Each week we will alternate between the two books. Students will be responsible for completing daily assignments, a pretest, and a posttest each week.
Our spelling schedule will be as follows:
Monday-Introduce lesson and list words. Assignment (workbook pages) is given.
Wednesday-Assignment is due. Take pretest. Students that earn 100% on the pretest will not take the posttest. Words that are missed on the pretest are written for practice.
Friday-Take posttest. Collect posttest, pretest, and misspelled words.
*In the event of a short week, the spelling schedule will be altered.
