contact you if your child is in need of modifications. Tardies: School begins at 8:05 a.m. and ends at
2:45 p.m. Students will be counted tardy
if they are not in the classroom with all supplies ready for class when the
bell rings at 8:05 a.m. Supplies: Preparedness and organization are two
essential lifelong skills. Students
are expected to have the following items with them at all times: a. pencil b. red grading pen c. assignment book d. paper e. textbook f. personal reading book Students
who have difficulty being in compliance with this rule will receive a check
on the behavior clipboard. Paper
Headings: In order for all fifth grade students to
be recognized for their work, the teachers will require a consistent paper
heading for all work that is turned in.
It will consist of the student's name, number (assigned by teacher)
and date in the upper right hand corner as well as the subject and page
number on the first line of the left hand side of the page. Students who do not use this paper heading
may not receive full credit for his/her work. Mailboxes: In each classroom, each
student will have a mailbox where graded papers and notes from the teacher
will be returned. It is the student's
responsibility to pick up their papers, and any notes left by the
teacher. Students will collect their
graded papers each Friday and bring them home in a take-home envelope. Take
home Envelope: Students
will use these to bring home graded work and notes from the school on a
weekly basis. We ask that parents sign
the envelope with the previous week’s date when they have received the
graded work inside the envelope, and send back with your child on Monday. Students will be given one day to return
the folder. If the folder is not returned on Tuesday a check will be given
for each of the days following that he/she does return the folder. If you
feel your child is bringing home less graded work than usual, contact us. On the
envelope, each student will receive a “smiley face” if he or she received
zero checks for the week. If the student received checks they will be listed
individually on the folder for that week.
Refer to the label in the upper right hand corner of the folder to
determine what the check was given for.
Please note that the rule descriptions are general in nature, and we
may not remember what the specific circumstances were surrounding the
incident. Parents only need to be
concerned if a specific number occurs
consistently in a week or over a period of weeks. |
