Rewards and Recognition

The CLUB (Carterville Lions Unbelievable Bunch)

The CLUB is a special reward for those students who worked extra hard and turned in all of their work on time for the quarter. Students who meet the criteria (no late work for the quarter) will qualify to participate in the CLUB activity. The CLUB will have a celebration at the end of each nine-week period.

ABC Awards

Periodically, all 5^th grade teachers will be giving out ABC Awards. Three students per classroom will receive the awards. A is for academics, B is for behavior, and C is for Character. Students chosen for these awards will be recognized in front of their peers and given a certificate.

Great Behavin’

Those students who are well-behaved in the classroom and at school will be given tickets to enter in a drawing to go to McDonald’s for lunch.

Passports

Each student will be issued one passort per nine weeks. The passport entitles students to make mistakes (forget supplies, restroom, late homework, do over) without receiving consequences. This passport allows students to learn responsible decision-making. Teachers will be giving awards periodically to students who have not used their passports.

Fantastic Friday

Throughout the week we will keep a record of student behavior and late work. Those students who have less than three infractions will qualify to participate in an extended fun activity (i.e. recess, movie, game).

Birthdays

The teachers will recognize each student’s birthday. If you would like to provide "birthday treats" in addition to our individual recognition, please feel free to do so. Just make sure that the treats are store bought or commercially packaged. We aren’t allowed to bring homemade treats.

Individual Classroom Teacher Awards

Each teacher has her own system of awards within the classroom. Special treats, awards, and privileges will be given to students who earn them on a daily basis.
