Important News & Reminders!

*      Students generally have time to start on homework in class.  IF they use their time wisely and work hard they should be able to complete most of it.  The rest should be completed at home.

*      Students who have late work will bring home a pink “Homework Excuse Note” to have signed by parents.  The form will be stapled in the assignment book.

*      Each student is given an A.R. goal to meet for the quarter.  They are given time in class each day to read.  A.R. is worth 10% of the quarterly Reading grade.  If the student is absent, he or she must read for 30 minutes at home to stay on track for meeting his or her goal.

*      Your child may correct homework assignments that receive an F.  In order to receive credit for these corrections they must do them on a separate sheet of paper and must obtain your signature.  The corrections are due on Monday of each week.

*      Please check your child’s assignment book nightly.  He or she will have the daily assignments written down.  The assignments are also available on this site.  It is very important that your child gets into the habit of showing you his/her assignment book nightly.

*      Homework that is not turned in the day it is due will receive a penalty.  The first day it is late, 20% is taken from the grade.  The second day it becomes a zero.

*      Absent work assignments are sent down to the office at the end of each day.  Please make sure to pick these up so that your child does not fall behind in the classroom.  The student has the same amount of days to turn in absent work as those that were missed.  For example, if he misses 2 days – he has 2 days to turn in the work.
