*** NEW THIS YEAR***
The Illinois State Board of Education now requires all students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online OR to complete the FAFSA Non-Participation Form.
A student will not receive his/her diploma until this requirement is met.
The FAFSA becomes available to complete online on October 1 of each year. However, Illinois has limited funds, so be sure to apply as soon as you can on or after October 1st.
The student and a parent will both have to create an FSA ID in order to complete and electronically sign the FAFSA. Visit fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index.htm to create an FSA ID.
Visit www.fafsa.gov to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
If you choose to complete the FAFSA Non-Participation Form in lieu of completing the FAFSA, it must be submitted to the Guidance Office by April 1.
