Today, we kicked off Quarter 2 with an exciting assembly in the gym. This quarter, our PBIS focus is: Stop, Listen, and Choose Wisely.

Our school-wide goal is to stay under 20 office referrals related to not listening and defiance. If we reach our goal, we will celebrate with a Winter Wonderland event right before winter break.

We were excited to welcome special guests from Carterville High School, who spoke about how listening and following directions have helped them succeed in band and football. They also joined our CIS students in a fun, interactive game that tested everyone’s listening skills.

PBIS Update:

This quarter, our PBIS focus is all about growing by learning from our mistakes and facing challenges head-on. Throughout our morning meetings, students have been diving into the difference between a Growth Mindset and a Fixed Mindset, learning how our mindset can shape how we respond to difficulties and setbacks.

Our school-wide goal is to have fewer than 50 office referrals this quarter. If we meet that goal, we'll celebrate with a kickball tournament at Mountain Dew Park in Marion — home of the Thrillbillies!

We're now at the midway point of the quarter, and students are being regularly updated on our progress. The momentum is strong - stay tuned to find out if we hit our goal!
